LA Audio's active DI box, Di2, featured heavily at this year’s Glastonbury festival on four of the main stages. As the first link in the audio chain, the humble DI box can either be an engineer’s simple assistant, or his worst nightmare. Luckily, the LA Audio Di2 has been designed to withstand the rigours of the road. Built from a tough aluminium chassis, the Di2 is not only strong but also very light. It has an enviable frequency response as well as the ability to accept +13.5dB without pad before clipping and a whopping +43.5dB with the pad before clipping. The Di2 really is the professional choice for any application.
The Di2 was used by SSE Hire (Pyramid Stage), Audile (Dance Tent) and South West Audio Ltd (New Bands Tent), with every act using them. LA Audio's product manager, Steve Buchanan states 'LA Audio products have been designed based on years of experience. The current Di2 is actually the MK3 version. It has always been good, but now it's even better'. One engineer remarked: 'they are so lightweight, I can Velcro them into the side of the racks'. When asked about the performance of the Di2, Chris Trimby, monitor engineer on the Pyramid Stage said 'Well I didn't get the usual grief that you often get with other DI boxes and everything sounded great, so it must have worked'.
Nick Pemberton, LA Audio’s UK sales manager comments 'The LA Audio range is growing in popularity with rental companies across the UK. Building on the success of the fantastic PC80 phase checking system and the DI2, LA Audio is now expanding sales of the graphics EQS, mic splitters and dynamics processors in the range. A large proportion of UK rental companies have one or two PC80's in their stock, which is a great introduction to the design and build quality that users can expect from the brand'.
